Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has said that Friday’s spat with U.S. President Donald Trump was “not good for both sides,” however, he emphasized that he cannot “change our Ukrainian attitude towards Russians” and that he does not want them “to kill us.”

Zelensky made these remarks in an interview with Fox News on Friday evening, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.

“It is very, very clear that Americans are our best friends, Europeans are our best friends, and Putin’s Russia is the enemy. This does not mean we do not want peace. We simply want to acknowledge reality — the real situation,” Zelensky said, highlighting the importance of security guarantees.

As was reported earlier, Zelensky’s meeting at the White House on Friday was cut short, and the planned signing of a minerals deal between the U.S. and Ukraine was canceled.
