Ukraine’s air defense forces shot down 63 Russian attack drones, including Shahed strike drones and other UAVs, while 16 drones disappeared from radar and failed to reach their targets.
The Ukrainian Air Force said this in a post on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.

Russian forces launched a large-scale drone attack on Ukraine, beginning at 19:30 on Saturday, March 1. A total of 79 Shahed drones and various decoy UAVs were launched from multiple directions, including Oryol, Bryansk, Millerovo, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk.
Ukraine’s air defenses, including anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare systems, and mobile fire groups, worked to repel the assault.
As of 08:30 on Sunday, March 2, Ukrainian forces had confirmed the downing of 63 attack drones across multiple regions, including Kharkiv, Poltava, Sumy, Kyiv, Cherkasy, Kirovohrad, Zhytomyr, Vinnytsia, Khmelnytskyi, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, Kherson, and Mykolaiv.
Additionally, 16 Russian decoy drones disappeared from the radar without causing any negative consequences.
The attack caused damage in the Kharkiv, Sumy, Khmelnytskyi, and Zaporizhzhia regions.
