Drones attack oil refinery in Samara region – social media reports

In Russia’s Samara region, drones attacked the Syzran oil refinery causing a fire at the facility.

According to Ukrinform, this was reported by the Astra Telegram channel.

Local residents reported the drone attack on the refinery and shared photos from the site of the strike.

The authenticity of the published footage has not yet been confirmed, the post noted.

Meanwhile, the governor of Samara region Vyacheslav Fedorishchev stated that UAVs attacked one of Syzran’s industrial enterprises. According to him, there were no casualties or injuries as a result of the attack.

Russia’s Ministry of Defense claimed that 18 drones were allegedly shot down overnight into Tuesday.

According to their statement, 10 drones were downed in Rostov region, three in Voronezh region, one each in Kursk, Belgorod, and Astrakhan regions, and two more over Samara region.

According to the Shot Telegram channel, witnesses of the attack in Samara region reported hearing three to five loud explosions and seeing several bright flashes in the sky.

Reports indicate that the attack began around 01:45 local time on Tuesday. Several emergency response units were dispatched to the Syzran oil refinery. There was no information about injuries.
