Ukrainian and American delegations will meet in the Saudi capital next week to discuss bilateral relations, strategic partnership, and the path to peace.
Ukrainian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Heorhii Tykhyi said this at a briefing on Friday, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.
He said that the ongoing dialogue between Ukraine and the United States is a positive signal. He also confirmed that President Volodymyr Zelensky would lead the Ukrainian delegation to Saudi Arabia.
“The agenda is clear: Ukrainian-American relations, the development of our strategic partnership, and, most importantly, the path to peace. Ukraine remains committed to a constructive approach. No one wants peace more than we do, and we are eager to restore this peace quickly,” Tykhyi said.
He also stressed that the upcoming talks in Riyadh are expected to be bilateral consultations between Ukraine and the U.S., noting that there is no information suggesting Russian participation.
Commenting on the recently signed U.S.-Ukraine cooperation agreement on critical minerals, Tykhyi acknowledged the significance of the upcoming meeting in Saudi Arabia but refrained from speculating on potential outcomes.
President Zelensky earlier confirmed that Ukrainian and U.S. delegations would meet in Saudi Arabia next week.
