Zelensky: Number of victims of Russian strike on Dobropillia increased to 50, 11 killed

The Russians deliberately calculated the strike on Dobropillia in Donetsk region in such a way as to cause maximum damage, and there are already fifty wounded and 11 dead.

This was announced by President Volodymyr Zelensky in his evening address, Ukrinform reports.

According to him, the elimination of the consequences of the enemy attack continued throughout the day.

“It was one of the most brutal blows, a combined blow. The strike was specially calculated to cause maximum damage. Missiles, also “Shahed” in the central part of the city,” the Head of State noted.

As he reminded, nine residential buildings, a shopping center, and shops came under enemy attack. 11 people were killed, including an employee of the State Emergency Service.

Zelensky expressed his condolences to the families and friends of the victims of the enemy shelling.

“The second strike occurred when rescuers began to work. 50 people were injured. Everyone has been provided with the necessary assistance,” the President informed.

According to him, there are seven children among the wounded, the youngest of them is a ten-year-old girl.

The Head of State also reminded that Russian invaders had shelled other localities of Donetsk region, Kharkiv region and southern Ukraine today and attacked civilians with FPV drones in Kherson.

“Russia proves literally every day with its cruelty that nothing has changed for them in Moscow. They are not thinking about how to end the war, but about how to destroy and capture more while the world allows them to wage this war,” Zelensky stated.

The President emphasized that Ukraine is doing everything possible to protect lives.

He expressed gratitude to all the leaders, all those diplomats of partner countries and public figures who support Ukraine, who condemned these Russian strikes and call a spade a spade.

“And it is important that we continue to coordinate all our efforts with our partners to ensure that defense works effectively and that we do everything to bring peace closer,” Zelensky emphasized.

As Ukrinform reported, on the evening of March 7, the Russian army attacked Dobropillia with Iskander-M missiles and Geranium-2 drones, and also used the Tornado-S multiple launch rocket system. When the rescuers arrived at the scene, she struck again.

As of 16:00 on Saturday, March 8, there were reports of 11 dead and 47 wounded.
