American billionaire Elon Musk suggested that sanctions be imposed on Ukraine’s ten wealthiest “oligarchs”.
That’s according to his posting on X, seen by Ukrinform.
An X user @nicksortor posted a video from a rally involving a large Ukrainian flag unfurled in Washington DC, with the following caption: “Who paid for this MASSIVE Ukrainian flag that was unfurled in front of the White House today? How many hundreds of thousands did this cost? I guarantee you my tax dollars somehow funded this.” He also suggested that Elon Musk-led Department of Government Efficiency should audit the effort.
Responding to the post, Musk called for sanctions against Ukrainian “oligarchs”, adding that as a result, “this will stop immediately”.
“Place sanctions on the top 10 Ukrainian oligarchs, especially the ones with mansions in Monaco, and this will stop immediately. That is the key to the puzzle,” Musk wrote.
After that, in response to another user’s post, who called on Musk to admit that Ukraine is a victim of Russian aggression, calling out Musk for constantly criticizing Ukraine, but not Vladimir Putin, the billionaire wrote that by providing Ukraine with access to the Starlink satellite system, he “challenged” Putin.
“I literally challenged Putin to one on one physical combat over Ukraine and my Starlink system is the backbone of the Ukrainian army. Their entire front line would collapse if I turned it off,” Musk wrote.
He said he was “sickened by is years of slaughter in a stalemate”, concluding the post with “PEACE NOW!!!” in capslock.
As Ukrinform reported earlier, Musk called on the United States to pull from NATO, suggesting that it makes no sense for America to pay for Europe’s defense.
