Verkhovna Rada Chairman Ruslan Stefanchuk and a delegation from the European Parliament discussed key issues for Ukraine and the EU, including financial and military aid, as well as the need to strengthen sanctions pressure on Russia.

According to Ukrinform, Stefanchuk shared details of the meeting on Facebook.

The meeting took place within the framework of the EU-Ukraine Parliamentary Association Committee.

Stefanchuk recalled that the EU has already allocated nearly EUR 50 billion in military aid to Ukraine. At the same time, he emphasized the importance of ensuring stable and timely arms deliveries, strengthening air defense, and supporting Ukraine’s defense industry.

Regarding financial aid, Stefanchuk noted that Ukraine expects the rapid disbursement of funds allocated by the EU to support the economy and reconstruction. This concerns the EUR 45 billion approved under the Ukraine Facility program.

During the meeting, the necessity of strengthening sanctions against Russia was emphasized, particularly against its energy sector, liquefied natural gas production, and companies that help the aggressor country circumvent restrictions.
