Ukrainian forces down 73 Russian drones, 37 vanish from radar

The defense forces destroyed 73 drones used by Russian troops to attack Ukraine in the evening, and another 37 enemy imitators were lost without negative consequences.

This was reported by the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Telegram, Ukrinform reports.

It is noted that from 19:00 on Saturday, March 8, the invaders launched a total of 119 Shahed-type attack drones and imitation drones of various types at Ukraine from the directions of the Russian cities of Orel, Millerovo, Kursk, Briansk and Primorsko-Akhtarsk, as well as Cape Chauda in the temporarily occupied Crimea.

The enemy attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units and mobile fire groups of the Air Force and Defense Forces of Ukraine.

As of 09:00 on Sunday, 73 Shahed drones and other types of drones were confirmed downed in Kharkiv, Poltava, Sumy, Chernihiv, Cherkasy, Kyiv, Kirovohrad, Zhytomyr, Khmelnytsky, Dnipro, Zaporizhzhia and Mykolaiv regions.

37 enemy imitation drones did not reach their targets.

Donetsk, Kharkiv, Poltava, Cherkasy, Sumy, and Zaporizhzhia regions were affected by the drone attack by Russian troops.

As reported by Ukrinform, a building and cars in Kyiv region were damaged as a result of an attack by Russian drones on the night of March 9.
