Donald Trump said the United States may soon lift the temporary ban on in intelligence sharing with Ukraine as he expects good results at the talks in Saudi Arabia.
He said this, speaking with journalists on board Air Force One, Ukrinform reports with reference to Reuters.
When asked whether the U.S. was to lift the pause in intelligence sharing, the head of the White House replied: “Just about”.
Regarding the negotiations with the Ukrainian side in Jeddah, Trump expressed optimism, noting that he expects “a lot of progress” on this issue.
In addition, in his opinion, Ukraine will sign an agreement on minerals. “They will sign the minerals deal but I want them to want peace… They haven’t shown it to extent they should,” the U.S. president believes.
Trump also said his administration was exploring various options for imposing tariffs against Russia. At the same time, he brushed off concerns about military exercises involving Russia, China, and Iran.
As Ukrinform reported, CIA Director John Ratcliffe said that along with the supply of weapons to Ukraine, the U.S. has suspended intelligence support. At the same time, he confirmed Washington’s intentions to work with the Ukrainian side to lift the restriction.
The U.S. Congress Intelligence Committee said the suspension of intelligence sharing with Ukraine was unacceptable and called for an immediate end to the pause.
