Ukraine and the United States are working together to develop tactics and strategies for a peaceful settlement. If the Russian Federation refuses to sign a ceasefire, the parties will change their common position.
Deputy Head of the Presidential Office Ihor Zhovkva said this in an interview with Ukrinform.
“We will coordinate our positions with the American side. It is very important now that the United States immediately lifted the pause on military assistance and intelligence sharing. This is a step that has already been taken. Therefore, if the Russian side is not ready for peace, it means that Ukraine and the United States will continue to coordinate their positions, perhaps changing tactics, perhaps making some other moves. Today it is extremely important to record that the Ukrainian and American sides are working together to develop the next tactics and strategy,” he said.
Zhovkva emphasized that if the ceasefire does not take place, it will mean changes in the common position of the United States and Ukraine.
He also reminded that, according to the statement following the meeting, delegations will soon be formed by the two sides, which “will also talk about the technical aspects of a possible truce.”
As reported by Ukrinform, President Volodymyr Zelensky said that strong steps could be expected from the United States if Russia refuses the proposals developed during the meeting of the Ukrainian and American delegations in Jeddah.
On March 11, the delegations of the United States and Ukraine met in Saudi Arabia. As a result, the Ukrainian delegation supported the US proposal to establish a complete ceasefire for 30 days along the entire front line. Such a regime can be extended by mutual agreement of the parties, subject to acceptance and simultaneous implementation by the Russian Federation.
