Ukrainian Defense Forces halt Russian SRG breakthrough in Sumy region

In Sumy region, Ukrainian border guards, in cooperation with other units of the Defense Forces of Ukraine, successfully stopped a Russian sabotage and reconnaissance group (SRG) from penetrating the region.

This was reported by the State Border Guard Service on Telegram, as cited by Ukrinform.

Ten Russian saboteurs crossed the border and attempted to advance deeper into the region. A mortar crew immediately opened fire on the enemy group.

“During counter-sabotage measures, Ukrainian forces forced the enemy to retreat, preventing them from establishing a foothold,’ the border guards informed.

As reported by Ukrinform, in recent weeks, Russian SRGs have twice attempted to infiltrate Sumy region, but Ukrainian border guards successfully repelled both attacks.
