Ukrainian Airborne Assault Forces (AAF) have captured eight Russian soldiers in Kursk region.
The AAF Command reported this on Facebook, according to Ukrinform.
“Eight Russian servicemen were captured by paratroopers and their comrades in Kursk region.”
The AAF noted that the prisoners include both mobilized soldiers and contract servicemen, who will be used as part of the AAF’s exchange pool in Kursk region.
The prisoners have received timely medical and psychological assistance.
The paratroopers also mentioned that, in their units on Russian territory, the captured soldiers had experienced inhumane treatment, torture, and executions for failing to carry out criminal orders.
“These people chose life rather than death on the battlefield. They are treated well and are safe, likely awaiting exchange,” the paratroopers emphasized urging all Russian military personnel to surrender to captivity.
As reported by Ukrinform, soldiers from the 3rd Operational Brigade Spartan named after Colonel Petr Bolbochan of the National Guard of Ukraine also captured a Russian soldier in the Pokrovsk sector.
