Air defense destroyed more than 850 targets launched by Russian invaders in week

From March 10 to March 16, air defense destroyed 858 air targets launched by Russian invaders on the territory of Ukraine.

According to Ukrinform, the command of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported this on Facebook.

In particular, the following were destroyed: one Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missile; 515 Shahed-type strike UAVs; 170 reconnaissance UAVs and 172 other types of UAVs.

Over the week, the tactical aviation of the Air Force flew over 160 sorties, including about 40 for fire support and air support of troops; over 80 for fighter air cover.

Air Force pilots conducted dozens of air strikes on Russian positions, using aircraft bombs and missiles of various types.

Command posts, logistics facilities, as well as places where enemy manpower and military equipment were amassed were hit.

Over the past week, units of unmanned aerial vehicles of the Combined Arms Rifle Brigade of the Air Force conducted 440 combat sorties, including 327 reconnaissance sorties using UAVs and 113 sorties using drops and FPV drones.

As a result, the enemy’s combat losses amounted to approximately 80 people. Also, 19 enemy shelters and positions were destroyed.

As Ukrinform reported, on the night of March 16, the Ukrainian Defense Forces shot down 47 Russian drones out of 90, and another 33 enemy UAVs were lost.
