Ukraine intercepts 47 Russian drones, 33 decoys veer off course, causing no damage

In the early hours of Sunday, March 16, Ukraine’s Defense Forces shot down 47 Russian drones while 33 enemy UAVs were lost from radar.

The Ukrainian Air Force reported this on Telegram, as seen by Ukrinform.

On the night of March 16 (from 18:30 on March 15), the enemy attacked Ukraine using 90 Shahed-type one-way attack UAVs and decoy drones of various types, launched from Millerovo, Bryansk, Shatalovo, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk (Russia) and Cape Chauda (temporarily occupied Crimea).

The air raid was repelled by air defense forces, electronic warfare units, and mobile fire groups of the Air Force and other elements of Ukraine’s Defense Forces.

As of 09:00, it has been confirmed that 47 Shahed one-way attack UAVs and other types of drones have been shot down over Kharkiv, Poltava, Sumy, Cherkasy, Kyiv, Zhytomyr, Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, and Odesa regions.

Thirty-three Russian decoy drones disappeared from radar, causing no damage on the ground.

As a result of the Russian drone attacks, Chernihiv, Kyiv, Kharkiv and Odesa regions were affected.

As reported, on the evening of March 15, enemy drones hit a five-storey apartment block and several private houses in Chernihiv, causing a fire.
