
During his visit to Norway, Rustem Umerov discussed with Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre the strengthening of Ukraine’s defense capabilities and the strengthening of the European security system.
Umerov posted this on Facebook, Ukrinform reports.
“In Oslo, I was honored to meet with Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre. We discussed further support for Ukraine, in particular USD 7.8 billion in aid that Norway will allocate this year for military and civilian needs,” he wrote.
According to the defense minister, the focus is on strengthening Ukraine’s defense capabilities and strengthening Europe’s security system.
The parties also discussed joint strategic projects and priorities for the efficient use of resources.
“Norway continues to stand shoulder to shoulder with Ukraine. Thank you for your support and leadership,” Umerov said.
As Ukrinform reported earlier, Rustem Umerov discussed expanding funding for the Czech Initiative to support the Ukrainian army at a meeting with Czech Defense Minister Jana Černochová.
