In the town of Vovchansk, the frontline currently runs along the Vovcha River.

This was reported by Spokesperson for the Kharkiv Operational Tactical Group Pavlo Shamshyn during a television broadcast, as reported by a Ukrinform correspondent.

“In the Vovchansk area, the enemy attempts to push the Ukrainian Defense Forces out of the town are ongoing but they have been unsuccessful. It should be noted that the frontline in the town itself currently runs along the Vovcha River, and from time to time, enemy groups try to cross it, but without success,” he said.

According to the spokesperson, the military quickly detect enemy movements, and as soon as this happens, all available means are used to eliminate them.

“Why do they need Vovchansk, even though it is almost completely ruined? Because even in the ruins, some camouflage and concealed movements can be conducted. Additionally, the town has underground communications that the enemy uses to accumulate their forces and resources,” the spokesperson informed.

Shamshyn added that the invaders like to hide in basements and various pipes.

When asked what pipes the invaders use, the spokesperson mentioned that these are sewer communications, which the Russians use to avoid detection by Ukrainian aerial reconnaissance.

He stated that the situation in their area has remained relatively stable but difficult for a long time.

As previously reported, border guards destroyed a Russian T-72 tank and armored personnel carrier in Kharkiv region.
