From what the Russian side declared publicly after the talks between the American and Russian presidents, it is clear that Russia is not ready for a real ceasefire.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated this during a virtual press conference on Tuesday night, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“A lot of what’s been declared publicly by the Russians is that, as I understand it, they are not really ready for a ceasefire. They once again emphasized themselves, personally, what we’d discussed, of what we had warned our American counterparts – that they are not ready to end this war. And we see it. They are not ready even for the first step toward a ceasefire. Because they will be talking of some additional conditions,” Zelensky said.
At the same time, as he added, Ukraine will count on the help from international; partners, including in terms of intelligence sharing.
As reported earlier, on Tuesday, U.S. President Donald Trump had a phone call with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin, discussing the need to end the war in Ukraine.
