Ukrainian forces down 63 Russian drones, 64 vanish from radar

Ukrainian air defense forces shot down 63 Russian drones overnight, while 64 enemy UAVs disappeared from radar and failed to reach their targets.

The Ukrainian Air Force announced this on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.

On the night of March 17-18, 2025 (starting at 19:00 on March 17), Russian forces launched a massive attack using 137 strike drones, including Shahed UAVs and decoy drones of various types. The drones were launched from multiple locations in Russia, including Shatalovo, Kursk, Millerovo, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk.

Ukraine’s air defense forces, including anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare teams, and mobile fire groups, repelled the assault.

As of 09:00, 63 drones were shot down across multiple regions, including Kharkiv, Poltava, Sumy, Chernihiv, Cherkasy, Kyiv, Vinnytsia, Kirovohrad, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, Mykolaiv, and Kherson.

Additionally, 64 enemy decoy drones disappeared from radar, with no reported negative consequences.

The Russian attack caused damage in the Kharkiv, Sumy, Poltava, Dnipropetrovsk, and Cherkasy regions.
