President Volodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine believes that in the coming months, Russian invasion forces will launch offensive efforts in the Zaporizhzhia, Kharkiv, and Sumy directions, as well as in eastern Ukraine.
The head of state stated this at a virtual press conference Tuesday evening, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“Putin wants to take several offensive actions. As we said, in Zaporizhzhia, in the east, continuing those the Kharkiv, Sumy directions. He will try to do this. Why? In order to exert maximum pressure on Ukraine. When will this happen? Believe me, he will try to do all this in the coming months,” Zelensky said.
According to the Ukrainian president, Putin wants his troops to “advance into our territory as much as possible.”
As Ukrinform reported earlier, following Donald Trump’s call with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin, the White House said the Russian side had agreed to a limited ceasefire, ensuring that no strikes are launched at energy and infrastructure facilities in Ukraine. It was also agreed to begin negotiations in a Middle Eastern country.
