Kyiv’s partners will not fulfil Russia’s demand to cease defense aid to Ukraine.
President Volodymyr Zelensky stated this during a virtual press conference on Tuesday evening, answering a question from an Ukrinform correspondent about Russia’s demands to have international security assistance to Ukraine terminated.
“I think serious partners won’t go for it, and that will be the right thing. They understand that this weakens the Ukrainian side. And it’s not only that Ukraine needs to support now. Ukraine needs support after the war is over. This is precisely what security guarantees are about. That is, this is not a game where Putin alone dictates the rules. And I think aid will continue flowing,” Zelensky said.
The head of state had added that Ukraine receives assistance from both the United States and European partners, and expressed confidence that it will continue.
“We are in constant contact. I’m confident that there will be no betrayal from our partners, and assistance will continue,” Zelensky said.
