Zelensky, Finland’s parliament head discuss steps to end war

President Volodymyr Zelensky held meetings with the Speaker of the Finnish Parliament Jussi Halla-Aho, leaders of political groups and chairs of parliamentary committees.

The head of the Ukrainian state reported this on X, Ukrinform saw.

“Today, during my meeting with Speaker of the Parliament of Finland Jussi Halla-aho, leaders of political groups, and heads of parliamentary committees, I spoke about the steps toward a just end to the war. Our state, together with its partners, is developing a plan to achieve peace and ensure reliable security guarantees for Ukraine. Special attention was paid to supporting Ukraine on its path to EU and NATO membership,” Zelensky noted.

The president emphasized he was glad to be among friends, and thanked the Finnish Parliament and all political groups for their unanimous support for Ukraine.

“We are grateful that the voice of Finnish parliamentarians in support of Ukraine within the European institutions and in the international arena is pro-Ukrainian and loud,” the president said.

As reported, today, March 19, Volodymyr Zelensky, along with the First Lady, are on an official visit to Finland.
