
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky arrived on a visit to Norway on Thursday, March 20.
This was reported by the press service of the Norwegian government, Ukrinform reports.
As noted, the President of Ukraine was met by Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre.
“I am very pleased to have the opportunity to welcome Volodymyr Zelensky to Norway. Norway stands firm in its support to Ukraine. All the parties in the Storting have recently reached agreement on increasing funding to Ukraine. Norway supports Ukraine in its fight to defend itself and is contributing to the effort to achieve a lasting, just peace in the country. I look forward to constructive discussions on how Norway can best provide assistance to Ukraine in both the short term and the long term,” Støre said.
He also added that all parties in the Storting recently reached an agreement to increase funding for Ukraine.
The government’s press service said that Zelensky and Støre will hold several meetings today. Finance Minister Jens Stoltenberg, Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide, and Defense Minister Tore Sandvik will also attend the working meeting along with the delegation accompanying the President of Ukraine.
For security reasons, the details of the program of the President of Ukraine’s visit to Norway are not disclosed.
As Ukrinform reported, this week President Volodymyr Zelensky and the First Lady paid an official visit to Finland. The Head of State held talks with President Alexander Stubb, as well as with Parliament Speaker Jussi Halla-Aho, leaders of political groups and heads of parliamentary committees.
