President Volodymyr Zelensky said that negotiations on Ukraine’s accession to the EU had slowed down due to the position of one country.
The head of state said this during a joint press conference with Czech President Petr Pavel in Kyiv, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“Now, unfortunately, some negotiations on EU accession have slowed down, and this is due to the blocking of all the work of Ukraine and all other EU member states by representatives of one country. We believe that the European Union needs more unity, more speed, more opportunities to fulfill its promises,” Zelensky said.
He emphasized that Ukraine is fulfilling its part of the obligations to join the European Union.
As reported, Hungary, using the principle of unanimity of decisions on EU enlargement, is blocking the process of starting negotiations on Ukraine’s accession to the EU.
