Russian forces kill two, injure one in Donetsk region

Russian shelling has killed two men and injured another in the Donetsk region, specifically in the village of Donetske (Mykolaivka community) and the city of Pokrovsk.

According to Ukrinform, the Donetsk Regional Prosecutor’s Office reported the attack on Telegram.

“On March 23, 2025, the aggressor state’s military likely struck the village of Donetske with a Smerch multiple rocket launcher. The shell hit near an apartment building, killing a 46-year-old man in his home,” the statement said.

Pokrovsk was also targeted, with residential areas coming under fire. A 76-year-old man was fatally wounded while outside, and a 69-year-old local resident sustained blast trauma and shrapnel injuries.

The type of weapon used in the attack is being determined.

Pre-trial investigations have been launched under Parts 1 and 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (war crimes).
