Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha has responded to Russia’s massive drone attack on Kyiv, emphasizing Ukraine’s urgent need for additional air defense systems.

Sybiha wrote this on social media platform X, according to Ukrinform.

“Ukraine requires additional air defense capabilities to protect its people from Russian terror and an increased pressure on the aggressor to end the war,” he wrote.

The foreign minister recalled that Russia launched a massive drone attack on Kyiv last night, “targeting residential areas and civilians sleeping in their homes.”

He noted that at least three people were killed, including a father and his five-year-old daughter, and eight more injured. This comes after similar attacks in Kropyvnytskyi, Zaporizhzhia, Odesa, and other cities in recent days.

“Russia’s systematic and deliberate terror against civilians contradicts its own statements about peace and undermines peace efforts by the U.S. and other partners,” Sybiha said.

Earlier reports said that debris from Russian drones fell in five districts of Kyiv, killing three people — including a five-year-old child — and injuring ten others.
