
On March 23, 2025, Dutch Prime Minister Dick Schoof held a phone conversation with his British counterpart Keir Starmer, during which the two sides discussed the support and commitments of the Coalition of the Willing with respect to reliable security guarantees for Ukraine.
As reported by Ukrinform, Schoof shared this information on social media platform X.
“We discussed the importance of unwavering support and the commitment expressed by the coalition of the willing with respect to robust security guarantees – a key condition for lasting peace in Ukraine,” the post reads.
Schoof also noted that the meeting of military planners last week was an “important step”, while the next step will be a meeting in Paris on Thursday, at the invitation of French President Emmanuel Macron.
The Prime Minister of the Netherlands also thanked Starmer for the “leading role” he had played in recent weeks.
“We are working not only for the security of Ukraine but also for that of Europe, and therefore the Netherlands too,” emphasized Schoof.
As reported by Ukrinform, on March 21, President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that the Coalition of the Willing summit would be held in Paris next week, where the format and composition of the future contingent in Ukraine and security guarantees would be discussed.
