Ukraine’s air defense destroys over 1,115 Russian targets over past week

From March 17 to March 23, Ukraine’s air defense forces destroyed over 1,115 air targets launched by Russian invaders across Ukraine.

The Ukrainian Air Force Command reported this on Facebook, according to Ukrinform.

In particular, Ukrainian forces destroyed 625 Shahed strike drones, 250 reconnaissance drones, and 240 drones of other types.

During this week, the Air Force also carried out about 160 aircraft sorties, including more than 90 for fighter aircraft cover and about 50 for fire strikes and air support for troops.

Air Force pilots carried out dozens of airstrikes on enemy positions using aviation bombs and various types of missiles.

Command posts, logistics infrastructure, and areas where enemy personnel and military equipment were concentrated were hit.

Unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) units from the Combined Arms Brigade of the Air Force conducted 823 combat sorties throughout the week, including 750 reconnaissance flights using UAVs and 73 sorties deploying drops and FPV drones.

As a result, the Russian forces’ combat losses are estimated to be over 50 personnel.

Additionally, 22 shelters were destroyed, and three UAV launch sites used by Russian invaders were struck.

On March 21, the Ukrainian Air Force hit a troop concentration area of the Russian 1st Guards Motor Rifle Brigade of the 103rd Motor Rifle Regiment in Toretsk, Donetsk region.
