On March 26, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development approved a loan for NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine in the amount of up to EUR 270 million for the purchase of gas for the next two heating seasons.
This was announced by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal on X, Ukrinform reports.
“The Board of Directors of EBRD has agreed to provide Ukraine with 270 million euros for the purchase of gas for the next two heating seasons. In addition, the Government of Norway will provide 140 million euros via the EBRD,” the report says.
According to Shmyhal, this will help Ukraine accumulate gas reserves in underground storage facilities for the next heating season.
As Ukrinform reported earlier, Naftogaz of Ukraine and the Polish company ORLEN signed a memorandum of cooperation in the field of liquefied natural gas.
