On March 27, soldiers from the 77th Airmobile Brigade repelled a massive Russian assault on the Kupiansk front, destroying 12 armored vehicles, one tank, and halting multiple enemy attack attempts.
The Khortytsia Operational and Strategic Group of Forces shared a corresponding video on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.
Russian forces had been preparing for this offensive for nearly three weeks, amassing both equipment and personnel in an effort to break through Ukrainian defenses.
“Despite deploying 13 armored vehicles, the invaders failed to achieve any results — they did not advance the frontline by a single centimeter,” Ukrainian forces said.
The Russian assault began at 06:00 and lasted until 10:00, with enemy forces heavily bombarding Ukrainian positions using artillery, mortars, MLRS, guided bombs, FPV drones, and air-dropped munitions.
By 13:00, Russian forces launched renewed assault attempts without the support of armored vehicles, but they were once again repelled.
During the battle, Ukrainian defenders destroyed 12 armored fighting vehicles and one tank, while 60 Russian troops were killed and 28 wounded.
