In Kharkiv region, effectively protecting critical infrastructure remains the main challenge as humanitarian aid mechanisms have already been effectively worked out.
This was reported on Telegram by the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, citing its chief Oleh Syniehubov, who held a meeting with representatives from Latvia’s National Armed Forces and the Latvian Embassy in Ukraine, Ukrinform saw.
“At the outset of the full-scale invasion, the main challenge for the region was the humanitarian situation: providing the population with food and organizing evacuation. Currently, these mechanisms have been effectively worked out, but the issue of protecting critical infrastructure remains relevant,” Oleh Syniehubov emphasized.
It is noted that since the start of the war, Kharkiv region has suffered almost 22,000 strikes, and over 77,600 critical infrastructure facilities have been either damaged or destroyed.
“The Kharkiv Regional Military Administration is strengthening cooperation with Latvia in the field of security and humanitarian aid,” the statement reads.
It was noted here that the parties plan to attract international assistance to address humanitarian challenges.
As Ukrinform reported earlier, six people have been injured as a result of Russian strikes in Kharkiv region over the past day.
