Patrol police have released the first footage following the Russian missile strike on a children’s playground in Kryvyi Rih on April 4.
According to Ukrinform, the video was posted on Facebook by Oleksii Biloshytskyi, First Deputy Chief of the Patrol Police Department.
“Yesterday, the target of the Russians in Kryvyi Rih was children. A spring evening. Some people are coming home from work. Others are cooking dinner. Children are playing outside. At that moment, terrorists strike the center of the neighborhood with a missile — right next to a children’s playground — leaving no chance for those nearby… We arrived immediately and saw real hell: dead civilians, children,” Biloshytskyi wrote.
He noted that police officers provided first aid to those who could still be helped and ensured unimpeded access for emergency services.
Biloshytskyi added that residential buildings, cars, and schools were damaged by the strike. Eighteen people were killed, including nine children. More than 60 people were injured.
Just a few hours later, Kryvyi Rih was hit again by a swarm of Shahed drones. One of them struck a private house, killing an elderly woman.
On the evening of April 4, the enemy launched a ballistic missile at a residential neighborhood in Kryvyi Rih. Nineteen people were killed and 72 injured. Later that night, the city was attacked by drones, killing one more person and injuring seven others.
Currently, 38 people injured in the missile strike remain hospitalized.
Among the dead and injured are children.
April 7, 8, and 9 have been declared days of mourning in Kryvyi Rih to honor the victims.
