On the frontline yesterday, April 5, 178 combat engagements between units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces and Russian invaders were recorded, with the enemy attacking most of all in the Pokrovsk sector.
According to Ukrinform, this is stated in a Facebook post by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the situation as of 8:00 a.m. on Sunday, April 6.
Russian troops launched 99 air strikes on the positions of Ukrainian units and settlements, including 163 guided aerial bombs.
In addition, the enemy carried out about 5,449 attacks, including 123 from multiple launch rocket systems, and used 2,237 kamikaze drones to attack.
The invaders carried out air strikes, in particular, in the areas of Khrinivka in Chernihiv region, Petrushivka, Prokhody, Krasnopillia, Velyka Pysarivka, Bratenytsia, Basivka, Naumivka in Sumy region, Kozacha Lopan, Slatyne in Kharkiv region, Havrylivka in Dnipropetrovsk region, Zoria, Stara Mykolayivka, Pokrovsk, Komyshuvakha in Donetsk region, Huliaypole, Lukyanivske, Stepnohirsk in Zaporizhzhia region.
Aviation, missile troops and artillery of the Defense Forces hit 12 areas of concentration of personnel, weapons and military equipment, as well as Russian air defense facilities.
In the Kharkiv sector, there was one firefight in the vicinity of Kamianka.
Six Russian attacks took place in the Kupiansk sector. Defense forces repelled Russian army assaults in the areas of Petropavlivka, Zahryzove and Nova Kruhlyakivka.
In the Lyman sector, the enemy attacked 26 times, in particular, trying to advance near the settlements of Novoyehorivka, Novolyubivka, Hrekivka, Novyi, Katerynivka and towards Zelena Dolyna.
In the Siversk sector, Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled five Russian assault attacks in the areas of Bilohorivka and Verkhnekamianske.
In the Kramatorsk sector, Ukrainian troops repelled three Russian attacks in the areas of Chasiv Yar and Hryhorivka.
In the Toretsk sector, the enemy carried out 20 attacks in the areas of Kurdiumivka, Toretsk, Dachne, Leonidivka and Druzhba.
In the Pokrovsk sector, Ukrainian defenders stopped 75 attacks by the Russian army in the areas of Kotliarivka, Valentynivka, Oleksandropil, Tarasivka, Lysivka, Shevchenko, Kotlyne, Udachne, Uspenivka, Novooleksandrivka and Bohdanivka.
In the Novopavlivka sector, the Defense Forces repelled eight enemy attacks in the vicinity of Rozlyv, Kostiantynopil and Burlatske. The Russians also attacked Ukrainian positions once near Rivne in the Huliaipole sector.
In the Orikhiv sector, in the area of Stepove, Mali Shcherbaky and towards Mala Tokmachka and Novoandriivka, the invaders made four unsuccessful attacks on the positions of Ukrainian defenders.
In the Prydniprovsky sector, the enemy tried twice to approach the fortifications of Ukrainian defenders without success.
Ukrainian troops repelled 17 Russian attacks in the Kursk sector yesterday. The enemy made 322 artillery attacks, 12 of which were from multiple launch rocket systems. The Russian invaders also carried out 22 air strikes, downing 34 guided bombs.
No signs of the formation of enemy offensive groups have been detected on the Volyn and Polissia directions.
As Ukrinform reported, the total combat losses of Russian troops from February 24, 2022 to April 6, 2025 in the war against Ukraine amounted to about 923,670 people, including another 1,330 people over the past day.
