Enemy is looking for new tactics to counter Ukrainian drones – military spox

The dynamics of hostilities are shifting in Ukraine, not as a result of peace talks but due to objective military factors, according Major Viktor Trehubov, spokesperson for the Khortytsia Operational and Strategic Group of Forces.

Speaking on television, Trehubov dismissed claims of reduced hostilities linked to ongoing peace negotiations, attributing changes in Russian tactics to pressing military circumstances.

“All changes in dynamics appear to be unrelated to the peace talks and are instead driven by objective factors. For instance, the Russians are using fewer armored vehicles and relying more on lighter ones due to dwindling supplies. Additionally, they are now searching for ways to counter Ukrainian drones, focusing on speed rather than armor. This shift is dictated by military conditions, not diplomatic discussions,” Trehubov stated.

He also highlighted that the intensity of enemy attacks at the front has not decreased. “The number of shelling attacks and air strikes, especially targeting Ukrainian towns and civilian infrastructure, remains unchanged. Therefore, we cannot currently attribute any impact of peace talks to the combat actions, either on the frontlines or in the rear,” Trehubov emphasized.

As Ukrinform previously reported, Russia has increased the number of drone attacks on Ukraine by 52% since the start of peace talks.
