President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has congratulated Ukrainians on Easter.
This was reported by Ukrinform with reference to his speech published on the OP.
“Let this day come. The hour of evil will end. The day of life will come. The day of peace. The day of Ukraine. A day that will last for centuries. And we will be able to come together again. At the same table. On a peaceful Easter. When we will all be warm, calm, cozy in our souls and, of course, delicious. When everything is as it should be. We want this for all 1,152 days. We are united in this. Every day and especially today, when Ukrainians of all Christian denominations celebrate Easter on the same date. Together. We are fighting for Ukraine together. And we pray for Ukraine together. For those who cannot be with their families on Easter. For those who are on the front line, with their comrades. For our soldiers, warriors of light. We ask God to protect those who protect us. To strengthen the will of those who are now in captivity. For our prisoners, for all those who have to return home… We pray today for everyone, for our children. For all the boys and girls who deserve a happy childhood. For our fathers and mothers who deserve a peaceful old age. For all our people who deserve long-awaited peace,” he said.

Zelensky noted that Easter is a very special day that Ukrainians always look forward to. After all, he said, this day gives everyone hope and reminds us that evil has its hour, and God has his day, which is one of the meanings inherent in the story of Christ’s earthly suffering and death and his resurrection, that sooner or later, but certainly evil will retreat and life will win. The Head of State noted that these words resonate in every Ukrainian heart. And they strengthen the faith that, despite everything, has not faded for 1,152 days of full-scale war.
Zelenskyy reminded that during the war, Ukrainians have been facing crimes committed by the Russian Federation, such as the murders of dozens of people in Sumy on Palm Sunday, attacks on a playground in Kryvyi Rih, shelling of Kharkiv, Dnipro, Odesa and other cities, and, in view of this, they are asking themselves: “Why?”
“And when the mind does not find answers to these questions, then you start listening to your heart. And something invisible, but very strong inside you does not let you give up. It tells you where to find the light so as not to get lost,” the President said.
The Head of State emphasized that the meaning of life can be found in relatives and friends, in the values that unite strangers.
“It is values that united us all by chance, united us on the first day of the war and unites us still. It is the will, endurance. Indifference and humanity. This is what God is. This is His manifestation. He is in our people. That is why there is light in people. That is why there is strength in people… We know what we are defending. We know what we are fighting for. For whom and for the sake of whom. And so every time, no matter how hard it is, we still do not lose faith. Because this faith is in each other. In those who stand next to you. In Ukrainians. In Ukrainian women. The belief that evil has its hour, and God has his day,” he emphasized.
Zelensky added that despite all the tragic events, the Ukrainian people are overcoming a very difficult path and the source of energy for this is relatives, brothers and friends.
As reported by Ukrinform, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, expressed special congratulations to the defenders who celebrate Easter on the front line of the war for freedom and independence of Ukraine: “It is thanks to you that the Ukrainian people can celebrate this great holiday in relative safety in the rear.”
