The number of people injured in the Russian attack on Kyiv has increased to 90.
This was reported in Telegram by the Department of Communication of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, Ukrinform reports.
“At least 8 people were killed in the strike. The ninth person, who was previously considered dead, is the remains of bodies that are currently undergoing forensic examination. Among the dead are two children born in 2003 and 2005 from the same family. 90 people were injured, 44 are in medical institutions,” the Interior Ministry said.
There may still be people under the rubble. Rescuers and dog units of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine continue to work at the site.
The Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Ihor Klymenko visited one of the districts of Kyiv where search and rescue operations and elimination of the consequences of the Russian strike on a residential building are underway.
“One man spent eight hours under the rubble, and we managed to save him alive. So we will be working day and night until we are sure that we have retrieved all the bodies or rescued more people who are under the rubble,” the minister said.
As reported, on the night of April 24, Kyiv was attacked by Russian drones and missiles. As of this morning, eight people have been confirmed dead, and 77 injured, more than 30 of them hospitalized.
Among the dead are a brother and sister. The boy was 21 years old, the girl was 19 years old.
Damage and destruction as a result of this attack was recorded in six districts of the capital: Svyatoshynskyi, Holosiivskyi, Shevchenkivskyi, Solomianskyi, Obolonskyi and Desnianskyi districts. Search and rescue operations are ongoing.
April 25 was declared a day of mourning in Kyiv and Kyiv region.
