Russia killed 622 children in Ukraine

Since the start of the full-scale invasion, the Russian army has killed 622 children in Ukraine, according to a report by the Prosecutor General’s Office.

“Over 2,546 children have been affected by Russia’s armed aggression. As of the morning of April 25, 2025, official data from juvenile prosecutors confirms that 622 children have been killed, while more than 1,924 have sustained injuries of varying severity,” the report reads.

The highest number of child casualties has been recorded in the Donetsk region (640), followed by Kharkiv region (490), Dnipropetrovsk region (235), Kherson region (208), Zaporizhzhia region (177), Kyiv region (136), Sumy region (134), and Mykolaiv region (118).

On April 24, a 17-year-old boy was killed during shelling in Kyiv. Additionally, 10 other children were injured, including five girls aged 14, 15, and 17, and five boys aged 3, 5, 10, 12, and 17.

On the same day, a 14-year-old girl sustained injuries during shelling in the village of Bezliudivka, Kharkiv district, Kharkiv region.

On April 23, a 12-year-old girl was killed in Russia’s shelling of Kostiantynivka, Donetsk region. On the same day, a 16-year-old girl was injured during the shelling of Kramatorsk.

Additionally, two girls, aged 1 and 3, were wounded in a Russian drone attack on Nikopol, Dnipropetrovsk region.

On April 22, seven children were injured during shelling in the Zaporizhzhia region: two girls aged 14 and 17, and five boys aged 3, 4, 13, and 16.

On the same day, a 6-year-old girl was injured in shelling in Kherson, while a 17-year-old boy was wounded in Kharkiv.

As reported by Ukrinform, Russian forces launched a drone attack on Pavlohrad, killing three people, including a child, and causing additional injuries.
