Russia has employed over 1,180 attack drones, 1,360 glide bombs, and 10 missiles of various types in air strikes against Ukraine over the past week.
President Volodymyr Zelensky reported this on Facebook, Ukrinform saw.
“All night long, emergency crews in Kyiv were battling fires in apartment buildings and cars after Russian drone strikes on residential neighborhoods. Unfortunately, there are injured children and adults. Everyone has received the necessary assistance. In Cherkasy, an ordinary dormitory was on fire,” Zelensky noted.
According to the president, last night the Russians also attacked Kharkiv, Mykolaiv, and Kyiv regions with Shahed drones. In total, 165 UAVs were launched overnight, most of them Iranian-made Shaheds. All morning, KAB strikes targeting Donetsk and Sumy regions pursued.
“The Russians are calling for a ceasefire on May 9 while striking Ukraine every single day. This is top-level cynicism: just this week alone, Russia has used over 1,180 attack drones, 1,360 guided aerial bombs, and 10 missiles of various types against Ukraine,” Zelensky stressed.
He stressed that a real ceasefire is needed.
“Ukraine is ready for silence to begin on any day – but for no less than a month, to bring the war to an end. If there’s silence, it must be every day. If there’s a ceasefire – then not for their holidays, but for every day. I thank all our partners who continue to support Ukraine and put pressure on Russia,” Zelensky concluded.
As reported, on the night of May 4, during a Russian drone attack, debris plunged to the ground in three Kyiv districts, causing fires. Eleven civilians suffered injuries, including two minors.
