Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha discussed bilateral cooperation at a meeting on Tuesday with US Chargé d’Affaires a.i. to Ukraine Julie Davis.

That’s according to a statement released by MFA Ukraine Wednesday, Ukrinform reports.

The head of Ukrainian diplomacy congratulated Julie Davis on the start of her deployment in Ukraine and wished her success in further strengthening the strategic partnership between Ukraine and the United States.

Sybiha noted that Russia had been continuing strikes against Ukrainian cities and communities for almost two months instead of agreeing to the U.S. proposal for a long-term ceasefire, which Ukraine unconditionally accepted back on March 11.

The Foreign Minister noted the efforts of the United States, led by President Donald Trump, to end the war and emphasized Ukraine’s commitment to achieving a just and lasting peace.

“The parties discussed topical issues of further bilateral cooperation between Ukraine and the United States,” the report says.

The interlocutors separately noted the importance of signing an agreement between the government of Ukraine and the government of the United States of America on the establishment of the U.S.-Ukrainian Reconstruction Investment Fund.

The parties also coordinated the schedule of further bilateral meetings at various levels.

As Ukrinform reported, on May 5, Julie Davis began performing the duties of the US Chargé d’Affaires ad interim in Kyiv. She will head the US diplomatic mission on behalf of Donald Trump.

United States Ambassador to Ukraine Bridget Brink resigned due to increasing political differences with the administration of US President Trump.
