Ukraine’s Defense Forces shot down two Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles and 81 drones used by Russian forces to attack Ukraine beginning the evening of May 6.
According to Ukrinform, this was reported by the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine via Telegram.
Between 20:30 on Tuesday, May 6, and 13:30 on Wednesday, May 7, Russian forces launched five Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles from the directions of Kursk, Taganrog, and Bryansk. They also conducted several waves of drone attacks, using a total of 187 strike UAVs and decoy drones of various types launched from Bryansk, Kursk, Oryol, Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk (Russia), and Hvardiiske (temporarily occupied Crimea).

The aerial assault was countered by Ukrainian aviation, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare systems, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
As of 14:30, two Iskander-M/KN-23 missiles and 81 Shahed-type strike drones and other drone types were confirmed shot down over the eastern, northern, southern, and central regions of Ukraine.
Additionally, 64 enemy decoy drones were confirmed lost without causing damage or casualties.
Damage from the attacks was recorded in Kyiv, Sumy, Zhytomyr, Donetsk, and Zaporizhzhia regions.
As Ukrinform previously reported, during the Russian attack on Kyiv overnight on May 7, seven people were injured, including four children, and two people were killed.
In Fastiv district of Kyiv region, a Russian drone attack on May 7 injured four local residents, including a minor.
