European leaders who truly support peace cannot stand next to Vladimir Putin, who launched aggression against Ukraine, on May 9 in Moscow; instead, they should arrive in Ukraine tomorrow to support its fight against Russian invaders.
This was stated today in Warsaw, during a press conference following the informal meeting of foreign ministers of the European Union countries, by the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“As we have the 9th of May tomorrow, which is a Europe Day, I want to stress that all those who truly support peace cannot stand side by side with Putin, who has started this full-scale war of aggression in Ukraine. Those who truly support peace should be in Ukraine tomorrow, rather than in Moscow,” Kaja Kallas emphasized.
As Ukrinform reported earlier, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine had called on all foreign states to refrain from sending their military to the parade in Moscow on May 9.
The Ministry emphasized that Russia had invited foreign servicemen to participate in the parade in order to whitewash its war crimes and justify aggression.
In an address issued on May 8, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said the Moscow event on May 9 is nothing but a parade of “bile and lies”. Earlier, the president said he did not rule out Russia organizing provocations during the May 9 parade for political dividends.
