President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that the Russian army has been conducting an offensive for several months, with the Sumy sector as the primary direction, where 67,000 troops have been concentrated.

Zelensky stated this at a press conference following talks with Turkish President Recep Erdoğan, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“Their offensive has been unfolding across multiple directions, but the Sumy sector remains the main focus. A substantial force—67,000 troops—was concentrated there. We took decisive steps to prevent them from consolidating their efforts. As a result, they are now working to recover, regroup, and proceed with their operations,” Zelensky stated.
