Over the past 24 hours, in the area of responsibility of the Luhansk Operational Tactical Group (OTG), there were 20 combat engagements. The enemy was most active in the Kramatorsk and Toretsk sectors.

This was reported during a TV broadcast by Dmytro Zaporozhets, Spokesperson for the Luhansk OTG, according to Ukrinform.

“Over the past day, there were 20 combat clashes in our operational zone. The most intense fighting occurred in the Kramatorsk and Toretsk sectors. In the Kramatorsk sector, there were nine assault operations, most of them targeting the town of Chasiv Yar. In the Toretsk sector, there were eight assaults: four directly on the town of Toretsk, and four toward the settlements of Dyliivka and Druzhba, which form the northern flank of Toretsk,” said Zaporozhets.

He noted that in assaults on Chasiv Yar, the enemy rarely uses heavy equipment and usually carries out artillery preparation before deploying such hardware.

Commenting on the situation in Toretsk, the Spokesperson said the enemy is managing to advance in urban combat. This is only possible after Ukrainian defensive positions are completely destroyed: “The situation there is difficult because the enemy is not just advancing — they advance by obliterating our positions.”

At the same time, he said Ukrainian Defense Forces are inflicting significant losses on the enemy, amounting to tens of thousands over ten months of fighting.

“Currently, we observe that the 132nd Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade, which is fighting against us in that sector, is so depleted that the command of the unit itself is being forced to participate in assault operations. Among the enemy’s personnel, there is already a belief that Toretsk is a one-way road. Representatives of the 100th Separate Mechanized Brigade have said that the enemy has suffered serious losses, and currently, more than 15,000 enemy personnel in that area are considered missing in action. And ‘missing in action’ potentially means KIA (killed in action),” he said, adding that total enemy losses number in the tens of thousands.

As Ukrinform previously reported, total Russian combat losses since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine (February 24, 2022, to May 16, 2025) amount to approximately 971,690 personnel, with 1,100 losses reported in the past 24 hours alone.
