The Ukrainian delegation at the negotiations in Istanbul is communicating with the Russian delegation through an interpreter.
Sources within the Ukrainian delegation told this to Ukrinform.
Unlike the talks in Istanbul in March 2022, this time the Ukrainian side is engaging with the Russian side via an interpreter.
The meeting is currently ongoing. It is expected that the heads of the delegations will make press statements and speak with journalists after the talks conclude.
Several hundred media representatives from around the world are currently gathered outside the Dolmabahce Palace in Istanbul.
As of now, the time and location of the press conferences have not been announced.
As was reported earlier, negotiations are underway in Istanbul between the Ukrainian and Russian delegations. Prior to the meeting, Ukrainian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Heorhii Tykhyi stated that the Ukrainian delegation’s top priority is achieving a complete, unconditional, and lasting ceasefire. This, he said, will be the key indicator of Russia’s willingness to engage constructively in the talks.
