As part of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s Bring Kids Back UA action plan, a 15-year-old boy has been returned from temporarily occupied territory to reunite with his father in government-controlled Ukraine.
Dmytro Lubinets, the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights, announced this on Telegram, according to Ukrinform.
Lubinets said the boy had been living in occupied territory with his mother. After she passed away from illness in 2022, he remained there in the care of his aunt, grandmother, and grandfather. However, he longed to return to his father, who resides in Ukrainian-controlled territory.

“That’s why the boy’s father reached out to the Ombudsman’s Office. Our team assisted in bringing the child back and supported the father throughout the entire process,” Lubinets said.
Earlier reports said that a 19-year-old girl was also recently returned from occupied territory under the Bring Kids Back UA initiative.
