In Kherson, a locomotive was damaged by Russian artillery shelling of the railway station, and railroad workers organized the delivery of passengers to Mykolaiv.

According to Ukrinform, Ukrzaliznytsia reported this on Facebook.

“Another hostile attack on the railway infrastructure of Kherson: passengers and railway workers were not injured, but the passenger locomotive was damaged by shelling. The railway station building was also damaged again,” Ukrzaliznytsia said.

After the alert in the city ended, the railroad, in cooperation with the local regional military administration, organized buses to transport 66 passengers from Kherson to Mykolaiv.

Ukrzaliznytsia informed that the railroaders are promptly adding cars to the train that is already waiting in Mykolaiv to accommodate all passengers from the Kherson station.

All other trains are running on schedule, Ukrzaliznytsia emphasized.

As reported by Ukrinform, on May 18, Russian troops shelled the railway station building and adjacent streets in Kherson with artillery.
