Drones strike Russian military airfield in Dzhankoi – social media

In Dzhankoi, located in temporarily occupied Crimea, drones have reportedly attacked a Russian military airfield.

That is according to the Telegram channel Crimean Wind, Ukrinform reports.

“A lively night in Dzhankoi: bursts of automatic gunfire, the sound of drones overhead, and explosions. According to our subscribers, there was a strike on the military airfield. The extent of the damage is still being clarified,” the post reads.

The airfield hosts the 39th Helicopter Regiment of the 27th Mixed Aviation Division under the 4th Air and Air Defense Forces Command of Russia’s Southern Military District. It includes three helicopter squadrons operating Mi-8, Mi-35M, Mi-28, and Ka-52 helicopters. Additionally, Su-25 attack aircraft are known to operate from Dzhankoi.
