Warming is expected in Ukraine from May 21-22.
This was reported by the forecaster of the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center Nataliia Ptukha, Ukrinform reports, citing the press service of the institution on Facebook, Ukrinform reports.
“Finally, an increase in temperature indicators has appeared on the forecast horizon, and all this is due to the fact that a warmer air mass will be coming in. But still, until Thursday, Ukraine will be in the field of low atmospheric pressure, so sometimes there will be short-term rains with thunderstorms,” she said.
In particular, according to Ptukha, atmospheric fronts and unstable humid air will cause short-term rains and isolated thunderstorms almost throughout Ukraine on Tuesday, May 20, in the eastern and southeastern regions on Wednesday, May 21, and in the western regions on Thursday, May 22.
She informed that in the second half of the week, atmospheric pressure from the east will increase slightly, so precipitation will decrease, with only western regions remaining unaffected.
“The wind will prevail from the northwest with a shift to the southwest. On Tuesday, gusts of 15-20 meters per second may occur in the south and southeast. Thus, due to the inflow of warmer air mass to the territory of Ukraine, the temperature will finally rise,” the forecaster noted.
According to her forecasts, the next night in the southeast is expected to reach 8-14°, and starting Thursday night, May 22, most regions of Ukraine will reach 8-14°.
Daytime highs tomorrow are still quite restrained – 12-18° across Ukraine, but from Wednesday they will already rise to 19-24°, Ptukha said.
As Ukrinform reported, April in Kyiv was one of the warmest in 145 years.
