The leaders of several major European nations have agreed to maintain close coordination ahead of a new round of negotiations aimed at ending Russia’s war against Ukraine.

According to Ukrinform, citing the Italian government, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni held phone discussions on Tuesday with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, French President Emmanuel Macron, Finnish leader Alexander Stubb, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen.

“It was agreed to maintain close coordination among partners ahead of a new round of negotiations aimed at a ceasefire and a peace agreement in Ukraine,” the statement reads.

As Ukrinform reported, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky discussed potential platforms for negotiations with Russia during a conversation with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni on Tuesday.
