On the morning of May 21, Russian drones attacked two private enterprises in the city of Sumy—five drones targeted one facility, while two struck the other.

The acting mayor of Sumy, Artem Kobzar, confirmed the attacks on Suspilne TV, as reported by Ukrinform.

“Today, two private enterprises were attacked—five Shahed drones hit one, and two struck the other. The drones arrived in several waves, spaced five minutes apart, preventing rescuers from immediately addressing the aftermath,” Kobzar stated.

According to him, a 60-year-old man sustained moderate injuries and was hospitalized.

Kobzar also noted that both enterprises were engaged in production.

“Unfortunately, Russian forces have increasingly targeted such businesses,” he added.

As previously reported by Ukrinform, the drone strikes left part of the city without electricity.
