In the Kharkiv region, a Russian FPV drone using fiber-optic control targeted the Pomsta sniper unit of the 3rd Border Guard Detachment, named after Hero of Ukraine Colonel Yevhen Pikus. Fortunately, an armored vehicle protected the border guards, saving their lives.
According to Ukrinform, the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine posted this on Facebook along with a video.
“An enemy FPV drone with fiber-optic control struck the vehicle carrying the Pomsta snipers of the 3rd Border Guard Detachment in the Kharkiv region. The drone hit the vehicle directly,” the statement read.
The vehicle’s armor withstood the impact, shielding the border guards from harm.
As previously reported by Ukrinform, on May 20, Russian forces once again attempted to breach Ukraine’s state border near the village of Stroiivka in the Kharkiv region.
